In this aerial photograph, a supply vessel moves near an oil rig damaged by an explosion and fire, Friday in the Gulf of Mexico about 25 miles southeast of Grand Isle, Louisiana. APLOS ANGELES—Two Filipinos who were injured during the Nov. 16 explosion on an oil rig off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico are no longer in critical condition, according to an announcement made on Sunday, Dec. 2, by the Philippine Embassy in the United States.

In a statement, Ambassador Jose Cuisia said that one Renato Dominguez and another Pinoy (whose identity was withheld upon the family’s request) are no longer in critical condition.

Meanwhile, a third Filipino injured from the blast, Wilberto Ilagan, is ‘still improving,’ Cuisia added.  Aside from these three, there were three other Filipino casualties of the accident.
