Baclaran eyed as tourism site

MANILA – Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chair Oscar Inocentes is keen on making the pilgrimage site a haven for tourists, saying that the agency is committing its resources to development programs church officials intend to pursue.

“We will be sending MMDA engineers as soon as possible to discuss with Baclaran church officials the projects that would be undertaken for the benefit of the thousands of devotees who flock to the church,” he said in a statement Thursday.
