MANILA – The Japanese government has given a grant of $78,795 (about 3.6 million) to a non-government organization that would facilitate livelihood and capacity-building programs for Japanese-Filipino children and their Filipino mothers who were migrant workers to Japan before.
According to the Japanese embassy here, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Makoto Katsura and Development Action for Women Network (DAWN) executive director Carmelita Nuqui signed the grant contract for “The Project for Building Capacities of Women and their Japanese-Filipino Children” on February 5, 2010 at the embassy of Japan.
