Another U.S. fugitive nabbed in RP
Philippine immigration authorities arrested early this week a U.S. fugitive who is wanted by federal authorities in the U.S. on multiple counts of securities fraud, the fifth American who has been ordered deported in the last two weeks.
Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan said immigration agents in Angeles City arrested Scott Allan Frye, 41. BI Immigration Area II Director Heranio Manalo said the American fugitive was nabbed at his residence in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, which used to host Clark Air Field, a U.S. military air force base.
Libanan has ordered to expedite the summary deportation proceedings against Frye so he could be deported to the U.S. to stand trial for his crime.
“As we have always warned other foreign fugitives, the Philippines is not a haven for wanted criminals, thus they should not seek sanctuary here,” Libanan said.
Reports Frye could not present any travel document, when apprehended. Records showed that he Frye has been tagged as an undocumented alien after the U.S. government revoked his U.S. passport.
