Seven and Counting
Tatay Pepe’s is so much thankful for what it has achieved so far these past seven years. Looking back from its small, humble beginnings there’s no denying it’s made its mark in mainstream gensan. Born on September 10, 2001 in South Osmena, with its unique concept and style, General Santos City has never been the same.
To reminisce three months after it was born, in December of 2001, Tatay Pepe’s ended the year with a bang and stirred the city with a three-weekend show featuring the live performances of two homegrown talented bands, the Kinetic and Pure Sensation. In 2002- the year of the horse, Tatay Pepe’s kicked off with Valentine and Post-Valentine Shows introducing an acoustic performance. The two-night show received utterly positive reaction and response that Tatay Pepe’s decided to put together a regular show for live acoustic entertainment that same month. From February to May, a two-member band played every Thursday and Friday.
In celebration of the Kalilangan Festival in February 2002, Tatay Pepe’s brought back live on stage, the Pure Sensation for one great night of fun and music. Still, requests for more nightly acoustic entertainment kept pouring in, so Tatay Pepe’s opened its doors in June to more local talented artists and extended its nightly shows to Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
In joining the merriment of the city for the 34th Charter Anniversary and the 4th Tuna Festival and yes, its 1st year anniversary, Tatay Pepe’s went nightly in its live entertainment for the entire month of September. From thereon, the nightly acoustic performances became what could now be its trademark!

Tatay Pepe’s also paid tribute to the gay community by holding two consecutive, highly successful, Miss Gay competition for 2002 & 2003. For its 4th Anniversary celebration, two of the philippines’ funniest stand upcomics Chokoleit with Ferdie, shook up Tatay Pepe’s with a comedy show! Divo Bayer, another famous Manila artist performed in Tatay Pepe’s! Freego, a popular hip and chic clothing line in the Philippines sponsored some of Tatay Pepe’s highly-successful shows in 2006.
The one night where customers were asked to don their favorite FREEGO OUTFIT and the Freego Execs picked the BEST of the night was a sure hit! The much anticipated yearly event “Muziklaban“, the search for the local rock band to represent in the regional competition searching for the best undiscovered rock group in the Philippines is being held at Tatay Pepe’s. The show is sponsored in part by San Miguel -Red Horse Beer.
So much happenings and so many accomplishments in six years, that which Tatay Pepe’s could only attribute to its growing valued clients who eventually become friends of Tatay Pepe’s and most certainly, the blessings from up above
