Search For the New Seven Wonders of Nature
In a historic date: 7-07-2007, New Open World Foundation spearheaded a monumental nature campaign to revive love of nature and heritage from all around the world and in doing so may bring forth peace in essence. We now have the New 7 Wonders of the World revealed on that day, based from over 100 million votes worldwide.
Consequently, the world is looking for the New 7 Wonders of Nature (N7W) to complement the New Seven Wonders of the World by way of online voting for the places you want included. As of July 9, 2008- We have not one but 4 Philippine Wonders included on the Top 10! This is such a wonderful news!
The Tubbataha Reef ranks number 4 in the nominations. Chocolate hills comes in at number 5. Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park and Mayon Volcano comes in at 7 and 8 respectively. However, the voting is very volatile. It can change anytime! It is still ongoing thru December 31,2008. Until such time, the panel will announce the Top 21 finalists.
It’s interesting that among the Top 10, nine are from Asia and only one other country got in- South America. Does that mean Asia is the only continent taking this campaign seriously and on to the next level? Regardless, this is going to be a permanent mark in our history if we have even one Philippine place of wonder included on the list!
To be on the list isn’t easy. It’s a long arduous process and since it is a dynamic live ranking, we are never too secure that the Philippines will be included on the Final 21 and into the final 7.
That is why we strongly encourage everyone, every Filipino and Filipino at heart to vote for Tubbataha reef and the three other sites that are already on the Top 10. Help us continue spread the word! Pitch in your vote today!
